大きな街に着いたので、4回目の休息日をすごしました。ここからはアップダウンがつづく厳しい道のりを予想していました。この大きな街には、albergueがなくhostelやhotelに泊まるしかないのですが、観光で有名な街なので高い宿ばかりでした。やっとみつけた比較的安いhostelは、街の入り口、中心エリアにむかう橋の手前の地区にありました。ここで休息をとる知り合いのperegrinoも多く、そしてやっぱり安いそのhostelに何人か集まっていました。hostelから、そのperegrinoたちとお茶を飲みに行くにも古い教会を見に行くにも橋をわたって急な坂をのぼります。橋のたもとにあるスーパーに、すっかり仲よくなったオランダからきたperegrinoといっしょに行きました。「わたしたち強くなったよね」とほめあって、「もしSantiago de Compostelaにゴールできたら、うれしくて踊っちゃうね」なんて言いながら、スーパーでかかっている音楽に合わせていっしょにちょっと踊りました。わたしたちは強くなった。そして、そのことをよろこび、うかれていた。まだ300km近くあるのに。ここからは、もっと大変だったのに。でも楽しかった。あのスーパーの思い出。

Llegué a una ciudad grande y pasé allí mi cuarto día de descanso. Desde allí, me esperaba una ruta dura y con altibajos. No había albergues en esta gran ciudad, así que tuvimos que alojarnos en hostales u hoteles, pero al ser un destino turístico popular, todos eran caros. Finalmente, encontramos un hostal relativamente asequible a la entrada de la ciudad, justo antes del puente que lleva al centro. Muchos de mis amigos peregrinos se alojaban allí, y varios más también estaban reunidos en un hostal asequible. Desde el hostal, teníamos que cruzar el puente y subir una cuesta empinada para reunirnos con los peregrinos para tomar el té o ir a la iglesia vieja. Fuí a un supermercado al pie del puente con una peregrina de los Países Bajos, con quien nos habíamos hecho buenos amigos. Nos felicitamos, diciendo: «Nos hemos sentido más fuertes», y bailamos un rato juntos al ritmo de la música del supermercado, diciendo: «Si llegamos a la meta en Santiago de Compostela, puede que bailemos de alegría». Estábamos fuertes. Y estábamos felices y emocionados. Aún nos quedaban casi 300 km por recorrer y iba a ser aún más difícil a partir de aquí. Pero fue divertido. Recuerdos de aquel supermercado.

I arrived in a large city and spent my fourth rest day there. From there, a tough, bumpy route awaited me. There were no albergues in this large city, so we had to stay in hostels or hotels, but being a popular tourist destination, they were all expensive. Finally, we found a relatively affordable hostel at the entrance to the city, just before the bridge leading to the center. Many of my peregrino friends were staying there, and several more were also gathered in an affordable hostel. From the hostel, we had to cross the bridge and climb a hard pendiente to enjoy tea or to go to the old church. I went to a supermarket at the foot of the bridge with a peregrina from the Netherlands, with whom we had become good friends. We congratulated each other, saying, "We've felt stronger," and we danced for a while together to the supermarket music, saying, "If we reach the finish line in Santiago de Compostela, maybe we'll dance for joy." We were strong. And we were happy and excited. Even though we still had almost 300 km to go, and it was going to get even harder from here on out. But it was fun. Memories of that supermarket.
