東京から居を移すまであと数日という秋晴れの日、日ごろから山登りを楽しんでいる友だちといっしょに陣馬山を登りました。長くこの国を離れる前に「帰ってきたらいっしょに歩こう」と言っていたのに、ホントはだれかといっしょに歩くのが苦手で言い出せなかったわたしを、気軽に誘ってくれました。美しいモノを作り出す友だちといっしょに歩いた時間が、山を登ることは長い道を歩く練習の一環だと考えていたわたしの視点を変えてくれました。時間も季節もちがう国を渡り歩いてもどってきてから、この国の季節に落ち着くことができていませんでした。この日、誘ってくれた友だちのおかげで、やっと秋の空気をきちんと吸うことができたと思います。抜け出せないとき、その出口にいっしょに歩いてくれる友だちがいる。お礼ばかり言いたかった山頂で、おいしかったけんちん汁。

En un hermoso día de otoño, pocos días antes de mudarme de Tokio, subí al Monte Jinba con una amiga a la que le encanta el montañismo. Antes de salir de este país por un largo tiempo, había dicho: "Hagamos una excursión juntas cuando regrese", pero honestamente me cuesta caminar con otra persona.Así que no podía invitarla a ir a la montaña.Sin embargo, ella me invitó sin dudarlo. El tiempo que pasé haciendo senderismo con mi amiga, que crea cosas preciosas, cambió mi perspectiva; antes pensaba que el montañismo era solo un entrenamiento para caminar largas distancias. Después de viajar los países con diferentes horarios y estaciones, no me había adaptado a las estaciones de este país. Gracias a mi amiga que me invitó ese día, creo que finalmente pude respirar el aire otoñal. Cuando no sé cómo dejar, siempre hay una amiga que me acompaña para encontrar la salida. En la cima, donde solo quería darle las gracias, disfrutamos de una deliciosa sopa de verduras,el Kenchin-jiru.

On a beautiful autumn day, just before moving away from Tokyo, I hiked up Mount Jinba with a friend who loves mountaineering. Before leaving the country for an extended period, I had said, "Let's go on a hike together when I get back," but—honestly—I find it difficult to hike with others, so I hadn't been able to bring myself to invite her. However she invited me casualy. Hiking with this friend—who creates such beautiful things—changed my perspective; I used to think mountaineering was merely training for long-distance walking. Having traveled through countries with different time zones and seasons, I hadn't yet adjusted to the seasons here. Thanks to my friend’s invitation that day, I think I was finally able to breathe in the autumn air. Whenever I don't know how to move forward, there is always a friend there to walk with me and help me find the way. At the summit—where I simply wanted to thank her—we enjoyed a delicious vegetable soup known as Kenchin-jiru.
