滝のうえの静けさ

この国のLos Ángelesに住む友だちを訪ねました。着いた翌日、友だちがその街を案内してくれました。メインイベントはその街の名所。滝です。ああ、まただ。わたしは滝を見るのが苦手なのだけれど、この国といえば滝。そして自然ゆたかなこの国には、たくさんのすばらしい滝があるのです。楽しそうな友だちの好意に感謝して顔だけ笑いながら、足の裏をヒリつかせて滝に近づきました。水しぶきが強くなるとともに、わたしのヒリつきも強くなります。観光客がたくさんいる見晴らし台で水しぶきをたくさん浴びながら滝を見たあと、ひとが少なくなる静かな場所へ連れていってくれました。そこは滝の上、まっ平らでした。おだやかなピクニックできそうな場所には、静かに川が流れていて、そのすぐ先が崖になっている。そして大きな滝になる。滝の上のこんなおだやかな場所を見るのは初めてでした。やんちゃで木登り上手な友だちが、木に登ると水が落ちる場所が見えるよと誘うので、ものすごくひさしぶりに木に登りました。下手でした。静かな場所にいたいと思っているけれど、その静かな場所と滝のような雄大な場所は、おなじ流れの中にあるのだと気づいた日。木登り上手になりたいと思った日にもなりました。

Visité a una amiga que vive en Los Ángeles, en este país. Al día siguiente de mi llegada, mi amiga me guió por el pueblo. El evento principal del día fue el famoso lugar del pueblo: la cascada. Ah, aquí voy de nuevo. No soy bueno viendo cascadas. Este país es muy rico en naturaleza, y hay muchas cascadas maravillosas. Me acerqué a la cascada con una sonrisa de al revés del miedo y agradecido por la amabilidad de mi amigo.Después de ver la cascada desde un mirador lleno de turistas, me llevó a un lugar tranquilo donde había menos gente. Era plano encima de la cascada. En el lugar que parecía un tranquilo picnic, el río fluía tranquilamente, y justo detrás había el acantilado. Y luego se convirtió en la gran cascada. Era la primera vez que veía un lugar tan tranquilo encima de una gran cascada. Mi amiga, que es un poco traviesa y se le da bien trepar árboles, me invitó a subir a un árbol y ver la cascada, así que lo hice por primera vez en mucho tiempo. Se me daba fatal. Quería estar en un lugar tranquilo, pero ese lugar tranquilo y un lugar majestuoso como una cascada van en la misma dirección. También era el día en que quería ser bueno trepando árboles.

I wanted to be somewhere quiet, but that quiet place and a majestic place like a waterfall go in the same direction. It was also the day I wanted to be good at climbing trees.
